Short description of the lecture content

The course includes an introduction to the concepts and fundamentals of thermodynamics and heat transfer. In the field of thermodynamics, ideal gases, working processes, equations of state describing gases and liquids, and cycle processes (heat engine, refrigeration machine) are covered. In the area of heat transfer, the fundamentals of the heat transfer mechanisms such as heat conduction, convective heat transfer and heat transfer by radiation are taught. Emphasis is put on, among other things, the balancing of heat flows and working with important dimensionless parameters.
